*NOTE - this list compiles only known individuals indentified through archival newspapers, whales #1 & #2 died one and two days after arriving at the museum, whales #3 & #4 died soon after capture and never made it to the museum, whale #5 was captured after Aug 1861 and was in the Museum during Nov 1861. Whales #8 & #9 died in the first museum fire. Whales #10 & #11 were exhibited at the Canal & Broadway location, they also died in a fire.
